What is phpList?
phpList is an open-source newsletter and mailing list manager that you install on your own server. It is maintained by a community and a UK limited company, and is licensed under AGPLv3. You use it to manage subscribers, build campaigns and send email to lists, with bounce handling and click tracking to measure results.

phpList requirements
- PHP: PHP 8.1 or later (versions the team tests)
- Database: MySQL or MariaDB
- PHP extensions: curl, gettext, iconv, imap, mbstring, mysqli, openssl, xml, zip and others listed in docs
- Cron with command-line PHP recommended for queue and bounce processing
phpList runs on PHP and MySQL, but the docs recommend a cron job using command-line PHP to process the queue and bounces. Sending volume is limited by your hosting plan mail policies.
