What is dotProject?
dotProject is an open-source project management system written in PHP, started in 2001 and maintained by a volunteer team since 2002. It provides project layout and control tools such as tasks, Gantt charts, calendars, forums and file sharing. Support comes from volunteers and users rather than a commercial company.
Project status: No formal release is published on the project's GitHub page, the Softaculous listing shows the last packaged version (2.2.0) from 2020, and the official site offers version 2.1.9 for download. The GitHub repository is not archived and showed commits into late 2024 when checked, so upstream activity is low rather than absent. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
