What is Claroline?
Claroline is an open-source e-learning and collaborative working platform written in PHP with MySQL, licensed under GPL-2.0. It lets teachers build online courses with documents, exercises, forums, wikis and assignments. The classic 1.x version offered here has been superseded by a separate product, Claroline Connect.
Project status: Softaculous offers Claroline 1.11.10 with a release date of October 2017, and SourceForge shows the classic project's last update in November 2015. Wikipedia describes the classic version as superseded by Claroline Connect, a separate Symfony/React platform. No recent release of the classic 1.x line could be verified. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
