What is Carbon Forum?
Carbon Forum is an open-source forum written in PHP, created by Canbin Lin. It uses tag-based discussions in the style of question-and-answer sites and adds real-time notifications and a mobile layout. It is licensed under Apache-2.0. Its repository has had no releases since 2017 and no commits since 2018.
Project status: The latest release (5.9.0) is dated July 2017 on the official GitHub repository and Softaculous, and the most recent commits are from July 2018. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

- PHP: PHP 5.4.0 or higher (per the official repository)
- Database: MySQL 5.0 or higher
- PDO_MYSQL PHP extension
- URL rewriting (Apache mod_rewrite, nginx rewrite or IIS ISAPI_Rewrite)
