What is Podcast Generator?
Podcast Generator is an open-source web application for publishing podcasts. You upload audio or video files and episode details through a web form, and it generates the podcast feed automatically. It uses flat files instead of a database. Its official repository was archived in April 2026 and the project is discontinued.
Project status: The official GitHub repository (PodcastGenerator/PodcastGenerator) was archived and made read-only on 9 April 2026, and the project is described there as discontinued. The final release, 3.2.9, was published in November 2022. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

Podcast Generator requirements
- PHP: PHP 7.0 or newer (8.0 or newer recommended), per the 3.2.9 release notes
- Database: none (flat-file storage)
- PHP extensions: fileinfo, gettext, simplexml, libxml
