What is Reader Self?
Reader Self, also written Readerself, is a self-hosted RSS feed reader and aggregator built as an alternative to Google Reader. It is written in PHP on CodeIgniter and released under the GPL-3.0. The version in Softaculous dates from 2016, and its developer has since directed users to a newer replacement project.
Project status: Softaculous lists version 3.5.6 from August 2016. The project's GitHub repository states it has been replaced by a new version (a separate Symfony-based project) and is effectively unmaintained. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

This is an old PHP release that upstream has replaced, so it is not a good base for new projects. It needs PHP and MySQL or SQLite; supported PHP versions are not documented, and it may not work on current PHP releases.
