What is PASTE?
PASTE is an open-source pastebin written in PHP, originally forked from the older pastebin.com source and hosted on SourceForge. It lets you run your own code and text sharing site with optional client-side encryption, user accounts, syntax highlighting and comments. Version 3.4 was released in February 2026.

PASTE requirements
- PHP: PHP 8.1 or higher
- Database: MySQL or MariaDB
- PHP extensions: PDO MySQL, OpenSSL, cURL
- Composer listed as a dependency
PASTE needs PHP 8.1 or newer with PDO MySQL, OpenSSL and cURL and a MySQL or MariaDB database, which standard cPanel PHP selectors typically expose. The project lists Composer as a dependency, so use the Softaculous installer.
