What is phpDocumentor?
phpDocumentor is a documentation generator for PHP code, comparable to Javadoc. It reads source files and doc comments and produces API documentation. The Softaculous listing packages an older 1.x release with web and command-line interfaces; the project's current v3 is a separate command-line tool.
Project status: The version offered by the Softaculous listing is the legacy 1.x line, dated January 2012. The project itself is active: its current v3 is MIT-licensed and needs PHP 8.1+, but it is distributed as a phar, phive package or Docker image rather than as a PHP web app. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
