What is ownCloud?
ownCloud is an open-source platform for file sync, sharing and content collaboration that you run on your own infrastructure. It is developed by ownCloud GmbH, part of Kiteworks. The classic PHP server offers file access from browser and devices, sharing, versioning and encryption, with WebDAV and an app marketplace.

- Database: The core repository lists MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and SQLite support
- ownCloud Classic 11 documentation lists Docker Engine 20.10+ and Docker Compose v2 on a 64-bit host, with 512MB RAM minimum and 1GB+ recommended
The current ownCloud Classic 11 documentation supports only Docker-based installs, which a shared cPanel account does not offer. Compatibility of the Softaculous package on shared hosting is unverified, and the documentation recommends 1GB+ RAM.
