What is ClipBucket?
ClipBucket is an open-source PHP video sharing script used to build your own YouTube-style video and community website. The Softaculous listing describes moderation tools, user groups, channels, playlists and plugin support. Video conversion depends on FFmpeg. A newer fork, ClipBucket V5, is developed separately on GitHub.
Project status: The Softaculous listing shows ClipBucket 4.1, released 11 May 2018. The v5 repository states the original ClipBucket repository was archived in December 2022. A separately maintained fork, ClipBucket V5, is active on GitHub, but it is not confirmed that Softaculous ships it. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

ClipBucket requirements
- FFmpeg is required for video conversion (per the Softaculous listing)
- For ClipBucket V5 (a separate fork) the repository lists PHP 8.0+, MySQL 5.6+ / MariaDB 10.3+, FFmpeg 3+, mediainfo, and PHP exec and shell_exec functions
The Softaculous listing says FFmpeg is needed for video conversion, and the V5 fork also needs exec and shell_exec. Confirm those are available and that processing limits suit your traffic before planning a video site.
