What is AJAX Chat?
AJAX Chat is an open-source web chat system implemented in JavaScript, PHP and MySQL. It offers public and private channels and can be integrated with forum software such as phpBB, MyBB, SMF and vBulletin. Its latest packaged release, version 0.8.8, dates from 2014, so it should be treated as an older, unmaintained codebase.
Project status: The latest packaged release on the official GitHub releases page is v0.8.8 from April 2014, and Softaculous lists the same version (dated 2016). No newer release was found. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

AJAX Chat requirements
- PHP: PHP 5 or newer (per repository README)
- Database: MySQL 4 or newer (per repository README)
