What is HumHub?
HumHub is an open-source social network and intranet platform written in PHP on the Yii2 framework. It is developed by HumHub GmbH & Co. KG in Munich. Organisations use it to give members profiles, topic-based spaces, activity streams and shared files, and can extend it with optional modules.

HumHub requirements
- PHP: Release 1.18 supports PHP 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 (older releases support older PHP versions)
- Database: MariaDB 10.11+ or MySQL 8.0+ (utf8mb4, InnoDB)
- PHP extensions: GD, cURL, mbstring, MySQL, ZIP, EXIF, intl, fileinfo, JSON, iconv
- At least 64 MB memory for PHP
- SSH access is highly recommended by the docs for command-line maintenance
HumHub runs on PHP and MariaDB/MySQL, which suits a standard cPanel account with a recent PHP version selected. The documentation recommends SSH access for maintenance commands, and its requirements list does not address shared hosting specifically.
